Cylinders, Cones, and Spheres--Oh My! LIMITED

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Limited Capacity seats available

Students have so many formulas to remember, but do they actually remember them?! In order to solve real-world and mathematical problems involving volumes of cones, cylinders, and spheres, students must first understand the relationships between the volumes of these shapes when they have the same height and diameter.

Participants will engage in a hands-on mathematical lesson that will help their students build conceptual understanding through discovery, develop the relationships between the volumes of cylinders, cones, and spheres using only the volume of a cylinder, and use their reasoning and analysis to extend their learning to real-world and mathematical problems.
